To start of on this project you will need to build the case for the radio, This is a wood case but it will be constructed to look like the original Bakelite case.
Here are some Pictures of the strap hooks, lots of angles to see construction. 
Here is one side piece cut to shape,  and trimmed with a piece of Aliminium &  held in place with small pins.

Two way Radio built in to the Radio case, the small door allows easy access for switching the Radio on and off and for changing the channels.
