Front selector switch & built in audio source.
photo number one is the micro switch mounting plate, constructed from sheet Aluminium the purpose of this plate is to hold a micro switch & associated wiring in place at the rear of the multy selector switch which is operated from the front of the faceplate with the switch lever

The purpose of the multi  switch in this model is to switch on & off a sound source which is built in to the model the sound source in this model is a mini hand held voice recorder,

when the selector switch on the front panel is switched to the top position a lever at  the back of the shaft comes in to contact with a micro switch this action completes an electrical circuit allowing the built in batteries in the voice recorder to complete the circuit and allow the recorder to operate and produce an audable sound in a speaker at the base of the "Radio"    ( the small speaker in the recorder is by passed )

Motion of front selector switch,

moving from left to right, when selector switch reaches the position on the far right the micro switch switches on the voice recorder, which will play back pre recorded sound's  ( morse code or voice radio
" chatter " )        the lower photos shows the switch action in reverse.

the selector switch will just "click" through its three selector positions not carrying out any function,
but when it arrives at position three it is one step away from switching on the recorder

the selector switch have a shaft moulded to it, this shaft then projects in to the area to the back of the micro switch mounting plate, fastened to the end of this shaft is a right angle arm when the selector switch is switched from OFF to On  the arm comes in contact with the micro switch the micro switch is switched on this action makes the electrical circuit  on the recorder which then plays the sound through the built in speaker at the base of the "Radio"
