To start building the Torn Radio Fu, D2, you will need to get a reproduction resin faceplate.

This is the basic blank Resin faceplate of the " Radio"

this is where your creativity, imagination, skill, and dexterity, can take over to create a superb & highly detailed Reproduction of the Torn fu, d2,

i have constructed a metal frame to support & hold the faceplate in a rigid position with a G clamp, while  i am working on the detailed features.

the frame can also be clamped to a work Bench for extra
stability.

the resin material used in the construction of the faceplate can be,

Cut with a hacksaw,
Drilled,
Filed,
& Painted.
The above Faceplate with the meters cast in place is no longer available.
New more detailed faceplate now available.

While stocks last on this production run.

 Faceplate selling for € 150.. Plus P+P about € 10

Hi Guy’s i think we have two issues here about building this Radio Model ?
i am getting a lot of hits every week from guys just looking at the faceplate, now is  the cost of the face plate no one issue ?
This is a good quality casting of the Faceplate i have seen inferior copy’s at less cost if   if you want to construct a half baked model,   now who want to arrive at a show with a model like that ?  and you
revealing  to every body that you are the proud owner and constructer  of the ( Radio ) get my point.

Now is the second point the complexity of the radio ? there is no need to take the project as far as i did i probably went over the top on detail  all that is required is a simple wooden box in which to install the faceplate, put a handle on top, and install an Antenna and you are in business.

The big thing here is guys will be looking at is how good the front panel looks  ( sharp and clear casting showing good details )
Or a badly finished with lack of detail ….so don’t spoil the project purchase a good replica… and make your day.

Please contact me here for to order Faceplate or parts.

Some suggestions for fitting dials to Faceplate, this is the rear view of the Faceplate.
Now here is a design for a really tough frame and case, this will take all the punishment of the battle field and come out intact.
